3. Don’t share IP addresses with other sites.
Some web hosts set up their hosted sites with many web sites sharing the same IP address. If you find that your site is not getting listed, it’s possible that you are sharing an IP address with a similar site or a banned site. If two similar sites share an IP address, search engines may consider these sites to be “mirrored” content (see #6 for more information) and will not index both of them. If another site sharing the IP has been spamming engines or the engines have some other problem with the site, the IP could be banned, and your site will be punished as well. If you inherit an IP from a banned site, you may also have trouble being indexed.
The solution is to request a new, unique IP address from your host. As long as the new IP was not banned, you should see an improvement in your ranking. Check out these other server issues.
